Chilasa paradoxa telearchus - India Bhutanitis thaidina - China Cressida cressida - Indonesia Pathysa androcles - Indonesia |
Here's four examples from other genera of papilionidae (swallowtails). Chilasa paradoxa is a fairly rare butterfly from India. I counted six Chilasa species in my d'Abrera book. There are several Bhutanitis species. They are all CITES II listed, one of the few non birdwing species on the list. They are very delicate butterflies, easily damaged. Cressida cressida is the only member of its genus. The forewings are clear. Pathysa is a genus of Swordtails found in Southeast Asia. Androcles is the largest. |
